[(a) You can contribute to IDF-OI Pool Fund, from which, the Managing Committee of IDF-OI will distribute funds based on project needs in various states. IDF-OI will have the same accountability, monitoring, reporting and feedback mechanism as in other projects.
(b) You can also contribute to a specific project in a state. For this, you can select your preference based on cause, state or amount. You may then choose any one of the projects listed under the selected head and the number of units you would like to fund.]

How is contributing to IDF-OI Pool Fund different from contributing to specific projects offered by IDF-OI?
If you contribute to the IDF-OI Pool Fund, the Managing Committee of IDF-OI will decide on disbursement of funds to state projects, making sure that there is an equitable distribution of funds among projects from all sectors and states. IDF-OI will send you regular reports/updates on how your funds are being utilised similar to when you contribute to a specific project. If you select a specific project and contribute to that project, your funds will be directed towards the selected project. Reports/Updates about fund utilisation will be sent to you on a regular basis.

I have contributed to IDF-OI’s Pool Fund. How will I know how my contribution is being utilised?
IDF-OI follows a robust mechanism for quality control and sends regular reports/updates to contributors on how their funds are being utilised. If you have contributed to IDF-OI’s Pool Fund, then IDF-OI will provide you details about utilisation of resources, feedback about outcomes and impact of your contributions. These reports/updates will also be posted on our website (https://idfoi.nic.in) under the section of Projects Funded.
Do I have to register before making a contribution?
Yes, you will be asked to register with IDF-OI before you can make a contribution. Sharing your contact details with IDF-OI will help us keep in touch with you regarding donation receipts and feedback reports. IDF-OI will not share your personal details.
Why does IDF-OI need my Passport/OCI/PIO card number?
IDF-OI requires the Indian Passport/OCI/PIO card number to ensure that the contributions are coming from a NRI/PIO. As the contribution is exempt from the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA),2010, we are obligated to maintain the passport/ OCI/PIO card details of NRIs who contribute online through IDF-OI. IDF-OI will not share your personal details with any other third party.
What are the payment methods offered by IDF-OI?

Is it safe to give my credit/debit card details online?
Yes, it is absolutely safe. IDF-OI ensures that all critically sensitive information such as your credit card/debit card number, Passport/OCI/PIO number and your personal information are protected. IDF-OI uses industry-standard SSL (Standard Sockets Layer) Encryption Technology for data encryption before such personal data is transmitted over the Internet. This guarantees that your information is safe with IDF-OI and no third party can have any access over the information.
Are my contributions to IDF-OI eligible for tax deductions in India?
No, contributions to IDF-OI are not eligible for tax deductions in India.
Will I get a receipt for my contribution once the transaction is complete?
Yes, you will receive a confirmation receipt for your contribution to IDF-OI by email within 24-48 hours of making the payment. As soon as you complete your payment, an acknowledgment will be displayed on your screen showing the status of your transaction. After a successful transaction, a message of “Success” will be shown on your screen, and in case of failure, you will see a “Failure” message. Your transaction ID/reference number will also appear in the message. Please note this number as you will have to quote the same in case of any transaction related queries. After the transaction is complete, IDF-OI will send you a payment confirmation receipt on the email ID provided by you while making the payment. This receipt will be sent to you within 24-48 working hours confirming your contribution to IDF-OI.
Can I request for a receipt for my contribution by post/courier?
Yes, you can request IDF-OI for a receipt for your contribution by post/courier. In these special cases, IDF-OI will courier the receipt to the donor’s given address as requested.
What happens to my money if the transaction fails?
If the online payment transaction fails, the money will be refunded back to the donor. For example, if payment is debited from the customer’s bank account, but the donor did not receive a confirmation receipt due to broken transaction; the payment will be refunded to the donor within 24-48 working hours.
Why is a surcharge of 2.5% being charged on my contribution amount?
As per the Terms and Conditions of the Banks managing the Payment Gateway, the user will have to pay an interchange fee/transaction fee of 2.5% (in case of Debit/Credit cards) or Rs 7 (in case of net banking), payable to the Bank. This charge of 2.5% is shared by the Bank and your credit/debit card Issuing Bank, against Payment gateway maintenance and other costs. On every transaction undertaken via net banking, a charge of Rs 7 will be deducted from your account irrespective of your contribution amount, as the transaction fee payable to the Bank. On the other hand, for transactions undertaken via debit or credit cards, a surcharge of 2.50% of the contribution amount will be charged along with your contribution amount, as transaction fee payable to Bank.
Will IDF-OI charge any administrative overheads from my contribution?
No. IDF-OI does not charge any administrative overheads on your contribution. Your entire contribution goes to the project, where it is needed the most.
